Z: ‘‘My dream is to see a blue whale’’

S: ‘‘I will do my best to make your dream come true’’

Two animal lovers, who met on the beach in Mirissa in February 2024. Sharing same interests, values and goals, we never stopped talking since then :).

The sun was too hot, but my mood reached the freezing point. Thirsty and tired, walking back to the hotel from the secret beach in Mirissa, I couldn’t decide if and with which company I will do the whale watching tour. The offers were very confusing, prices different and results from same day varying from stand to stand. Giving up slowly, I decided to talk to every whale watching provider I would meet on the way.

I stopped at Samin’s beach office. Seeing me standing there with my long freediving fins and 7kg backpack, he offered me a seat under his umbrella. After sharing his water and chocolate with me I was more than happy to stay and talk about whales and animals.

I haven’t seen a blue whale yet, but together with Samin and our team I see a huge opportunity for the future: Show YOU the animals of Sri Lanka and Maldives in an ethical and sustainable way. Teach about the animals, protect our nature and build a community who will spread the message.

Ready for the adventure?

SAMIN

37 years old, born in Mirissa. After being a fisherman many years ago, I decided to stop killing fish and fell in love with whales and exploring these beautiful animals. My father taught me a lot about the Indian ocean and I would love to give my experience to anyone who loves to learn about it.

ZUZANA

33 years old, born in Poprad, currently living in Vienna, Austria. I grew up with my grandparents and my mom in a small city in Slovakia. Animals and nature have always been a big part of my life. Finally after 32 years I am starting to live my dream and spend more time with things I love doing. Freediving and wildlife exploring.
